This area of Portugal is certainly worth the discovery. With a strong influence of the Atlantic, the ‘Costa Sul’ (or as it’s also known, Costa Azul), has a wide palette of breath-taking landscapes.
Favoured due to its close proximity to the sea and capital, benefiting from rural Portuguese traditions, this area features rocky cliffs, immense strips of white sand and small bays that invite intimacy and exploration; all these treasures are set in timeless, charming and picturesque villages.
Driving down along the southern region of Lisbon, to towns such as Arrábida, Azeitão, and Santiago de Cacém, one gets to experience the country's gorgeous raw and beautiful scenery along the rugged coastline, ancient towns with Roman influences, bountiful of cultural attractions; as well as towns that played a significant role during the Age of Discoveries engraved within Portuguese history.
